Spring 2026

“The green and laughing world he sees,
Waters and plains and waving trees,
The skim of birds and the blue doming skies.”
Ode to the spring of 1814 by Leigh Hunt.
This beautiful poem was written by Leigh Hunt while he was in jail for calling the Prince Regent corpulent and a libertine in a newspaper he edited with his brother, is a fabulous reminder of how great spring is, it never fails to uplift me. And poignant too, imagine being in jail, not being able to see the spring sky.
This Spring I’ve done lots of paintings and writings too. I sold my latest large watercolour, titled Windfall, to the recently retired CEO of Clean Energy Australia, who saw it at the Prospect Art Show. It’s now included in his collection in Canberra, so I was really thrilled.

And heres some more of my recent work this Spring from my recent trip Painting in the Flinders Ranges. This painting is Wilpena Pound in afternoon light.
